BuildAbility is a multi-media software program that
allows teachers to create single-switch early literacy
activities and lessons easily and quickly. This authoring
tool provides a fun way to write and illustrate stories,
slideshows, presentations, books, and so on. The software
is relatively easy to learn and user friendly, so young
students can participate in the creative process. The
program automatically saves your drawings and then plays
them back in an animated fashion, thus making the art
process fun and motivating. Images can be imported and
animated as well. Sound and movie files can also be integrated
into the program easily.

activitie are saved in “presentation” format.
You cannot modify these activities unless you own a working
copy of the program. However, to view the activity, download
it to your computer and then double click on the “Player.exe” icon
located in the folder. The activities will typically
only play on computers that use the same operating system
used
by the author during creation. The “Read Me” file
with each activity will specify which operating system
was used during creation of the activity. To learn more
