OATC Trainings

One of the program priorities for the 2012-2013 year is to work with schools to establish local assistive technology resource teams. The development of resource teams gives school districts a local option for addressing the assistive technology requirements of IDEA 2004. You are welcome to participate by sending a team (minimum of 2 participants) to be trained. The training consists of six sessions, which will occur throughout the school year. They are provided free of charge to participating school districts. The trainings are scheduled once a month beginning in the fall and ending in the spring. Training locations will be determined based on school participation and will occur in local communities. You may register your team by completing the online registration form.

These trainings are designed to assist educators and service providers with the newest information regarding assistive technology by bringing in national and local speakers throughout the year. These personnel development opportunities are available to all school district personnel. These trainings have a minimal fee of $40 to attend. However, these trainings are free of charge to anyone who has completed our Level 1 training series.  Some may also have a small materials fee.

OATC has computer labs in Oklahoma City and Tulsa where school personnel can receive hands on training on some of the most popular assistive technology software and AAC devices used in the educational setting. OATC provides this free of charge.
