Materials for adapted talking picture frame:

1. 1 Talking picture frame (These instructions work best with the Photo Messenger from

Say it with Love Products – www.futurememories.com)

2. Scraps of foam

3. Small bead (a tall narrow bead works best)

4. Hot glue gun

5. Optional: Scrap melted laminating film and

clear packaging tape

6. Small pliers or tweezers

Materials for PVC stand:

1. 5” of ½” PVC

2. 4 ½” 90º PVC connectors (elbows)

3. 2 ½” PVC caps

4. PVC cutter or hacksaw

Steps for the adapted talking picture frame:

1. Open the picture frame and remove the picture that comes with it.

Discard the thin square plastic frame that holds the picture.

2. Push back on the lid of the frame until it breaks off. You’ll see little

metal pins sticking out of the broken plastic hinges. Pull these pins

out with pliers. Peel the “Try Me!” sticker off the play button.

3. Cut 5 small pieces of foam. You may need to cut the thickness in

half so the pieces aren’t so tall. Trim the pieces so that one piece

fits in the center of the bottom part of the frame (the “talking” part, not the

lid), and the other 4 pieces fit the corners. You may have to cover a small

part of the speaker, and that won’t affect the function of the frame. Do be

careful, though, not to cover the microphone, which is a small area with 5

holes about an inch to the left of the play button.

4. Hot glue the foam onto the picture frame. It usually works best to put the

glue onto the foam pieces and then gently set them in place instead of

putting the glue directly on the frame.

5. Hot glue the bead onto the play button. Again, it usually

works best to apply the glue to the bead and then gently

put it in place instead of directly putting glue on the play

button itself.

6. OPTIONAL: Make a pocket for a picture symbol by

attaching a square of scrap laminate to the lid with clear

packaging tape.

Remove this pin.
