Useful site for locating general information about assistive
technology services and products. Site includes tutorials
for various software programs that can be downloaded
as well as an extensive library of useful links to other
sites related to the field.
Closing
the Gap
Organization that provides objective information
about assistive technology for children and adults
with special
needs. Browsers can gain information in the form of a
newspaper, online support network, resource directory,
and product search. Closing the Gap Inc. also hosts a
conference annually to gather vendors, manufacturing
representatives, and leading professionals in the AT
field.
The Center for Family, School, and Community
This site is developed by educators, researchers, curriculum
developers, and project leaders who create products and
programs based on rigorous research and best practice.
Teachers, schools, and community organizations are involved
in the design of educational programs that are interesting,
practical, and successful. FSC is recognized nationwide
for their expertise.
RESNA
This organization provides useful information
for providers and professionals in the field of assistive
technology.
RESNA also hosts an annual conference and gathers manufacturing
representatives, vendors, and other professionals in
the AT field.
Trace Center
The Trace Research & Development
Center is a part of the College of Engineering, University
of Wisconsin-Madison,
and serves as a pioneer in the field of technology and
disability. The Trace Center conducts research in areas
such as universal design, technology access, and telecommunications
access.

STATE/LOCAL RESOURCES:
Oklahoma ABLE
Tech
This organization receives federal funding provided
under the Assistive Technology Act. Their purpose is
to help individuals with disabilities gain access to
assistive technology. General information about assistive
technology devices and services is available, along with
a lending library, and an in-depth funding manual related
to funding resources in Oklahoma.

Equipment Connection
The Oklahoma Equipment Connection (OEC) is a free service
provided by Oklahoma ABLE Tech to help Oklahomans with
disabilities needing assistive technology to find affordable,
used adaptive equipment to meet their needs.
Tech Tots:
Sponsored by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of
Oklahoma, this program is designed to introduce children
with disabilities to the world of technology. Computers
and a variety of software can be explored in the library
and/or checked out to individual homes.
